How to rent a home from Accent

There are two ways to rent a home from Accent – choice-based letting and Rightmove.

Choice-based letting

The first is via your local authority through choice-based letting.

Choice-based letting (CBL) is a housing scheme run by local councils across the UK. It gives you the freedom to bid on the best home for you, so you can have a say in where you live.

If you’re looking for a home in a specific area, we recommend signing up to your local housing register.

Rightmove

Some of our properties aren't available through CBL schemes. We'll advertise these on Rightmove.

1. Search for a property

Visit our Accent Rightmove page and search for the location you are interested in by using the postcode or name of the area.

You can refine your search results by filtering for specific requirements, like whether you want a house or a flat, your price range, how many bedrooms there are, if you need a garden and whether or not the property has parking.

Some people find it easier to create Rightmove account, which means you can set up alerts for new listings that match your criteria and save your favourite properties.

2. Contact us

Once you've spotted a suitable property that meets your needs, contact our allocations and lettings team through Rightmove by submitting an enquiry form.

You can also contact us directly on 0345 678 0555.

3. Fill in your property application form

Once you've been in touch, our allocations and lettings team will send you a link to our property application form in our Let's Move application portal. You'll need to fill this in within 48 hours.

Customers can visit the Accent webpage here: How to rent a home from Accent | Accent where they can be redirected to the Accent Rightmove page here: Accent Lettings Agent in Accent (Re-Lets) | Rightmove. You will then have to select the property you wish to register interest in and request details where you will be prompted to complete a contact form.  We would recommend that applicants setup Rightmove alerts for Accent properties so you can apply as soon as possible if you wish to secure an Accent tenancy.

1.        When a customer registers their interest on Rightmove it sends an email to the Accent Lettings inbox. The Allocations Team will respond with a standard email and link to the application form. (We aim to complete this within 48 hours). The customer is then required to complete the application form which will allocate them a banding and give them a place on the shortlist based on their needs for the property.

Adverts will be placed on Rightmove with the intention of being advertised for 7 days however Accent reserve the right to remove adverts early if substantial interest has been received on a property advert - this is included in the adverts as a disclaimer.

1.        Yes. Applicants are welcome to apply for multiple properties.

If you have been successful on a property that you have registered interest on you will be contacted by a member of the Allocations Team by both phone and email; you will have 24 hours to return this contact or you risk being bypassed. We will continue contacting applicants on a shortlist until we are able to successfully allocate a property. We aim to shortlist properties within 14 days of an advert being closed therefore if you have not heard from a member of the team within this time frame you should assume that you have not been successful.

No, a deposit is not required however we will ask for an initial rent payment between either 2-5 weeks rent in advance depending on your affordability for the property.

All documentation needs to be provided to AccentLettings@accentgroup.org within 24 hours of being contacted regarding a property offer.
