Bradford became the fourth UK City of Culture in January 2025 and celebrations are continuing throughout the year. Bradford District was selected by the Government in May 2022 from a record-breaking 20 bids. The celebrations are covering a total of 141 square miles!
Performances, exhibitions, events and activities are inspired by the variety of the local landscape, from the city’s historic centre to the breathtaking countryside that surrounds it. In April, The Beacon, the travelling venue custom made for the celebrations will be touring in four of the city’s parks – starting in Wibsey. From Thursday 3 April to Monday 5 May, there’ll be live music, top-notch comedy, theatre, dance, family activities, CBeebies bedtime stories and community events galore – including loads of free stuff to see and do.
To find out what’s on and for ticket details, visit The Beacon.
Bradford 2025 is created for, with and by the people of Bradford. With more than a quarter of the city’s population aged under 20, young people are at the heart of the celebrations and will be proudly reflected across art, education, skills and training projects centred on the lives, concerns and ambitions of young people today.
The impact of UK City of Culture will live on long after 2025. It has already brought significant investment to the region and is set to serve as a catalyst for development, regeneration and change – reshaping Bradford for the benefit of future generations.
Accent is pleased to be supporting Bradford 2025. We will continue to promote events and activities throughout the year to customers and colleagues.
