We’re delighted to announce we’ve been awarded £3.6 million from the Department of Energy and Net Zero’s (DESNZ) Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund, thanks to a successful bid alongside a group of housing providers part of the Thriving Communities consortium.
The funding will help us to take our retrofit work further and faster for our customers, with more than 400 households set to benefit from energy efficiency improvements.
This builds on our existing retrofit programme with our partners CLC, which has already supported many customers to make homes warmer, more comfortable, and cheaper to run through reduced energy demands.
414 homes will benefit as a result of the additional funding from DESNZ, with work to be carried out later this year.
Customers will benefit from a range of measures, including, loft insulation, cavity insulation, air source heat pumps, and solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
Julie Wittich, Chief Operating Officer at Accent Housing, said:
“We’re delighted to have been awarded wave 3 grant funding from DESNZ, which will enable us to take Accent’s existing retrofit work further and faster, meaning warmer homes that are cheaper to run for hundreds more of our customers.
We’re committed to continuing our investment in our retrofit programme to improve the warmth and comfort of our customers’ homes, as well as supporting customers financially by reducing the amount of energy needed to heat and fuel their homes. This funding will allow more than 400 customers to benefit from energy efficiency improvements that will do just that.
We’re excited to build on our wave 2 funding success and the strong partnership work we’ve created through the Thriving Communities consortium, which will play a huge role in tackling fuel poverty, decarbonising our properties, and most importantly, improving our customers’ lives.”
