With the continuing high cost of living, and such a long spell of below freezing temperatures across much of the country, many people may be finding it difficult to keep themselves and their homes warm this winter.
Visiting your local Warm Space could provide some much needed comfort.
Warm Hubs or Warm Spaces are places such as community centres, libraries, sports halls, churches or other public buildings across the country, which provide safe, friendly and neutral surroundings where you can comfortably spend time reading, studying or chatting with others. Some also offer extras like hot drinks, snacks, activities and free wi-fi.
Hubs are open all year round - not just in the winter - and they are for everyone, you don’t need to be referred or to be receiving benefits or other allowances to be able to use them.
Warm Spaces first opened in December 2022 to help people who were struggling with the cost of heating their home through winter. Due to their popularity, they have continued since, and all year round. They are funded by money from the Department for Work and Pension’s Household Support Fund.
To find your nearest warm space, visit your council website and search under warm space, or contact our housing hub on 0345 678 0555 for more information.
