A guide to selling your Accent shared ownership home | Accent

Your step-by-step guide to selling your home

1. Contact our Homemade Homes by Accent team

Our Homemade Homes by Accent team looks after all shared ownership home sales, so once you’ve made your decision to sell, give us a call on 0345 678 0552 or email info@homemadehomes.com to let us know.

2. Wait for us to check your lease

We will check your lease for information on a ’nomination period’, which is the period when only we’re allowed to market your home.

Your lease will also have information about any nomination fees you’ll need to pay us if we help you sell your home.

3. Arranging an appointment with RICS and photographer

To work out the value of your property and the share you own, you’ll need an appointment with a valuer from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Depending on your lease, either you or Accent will be responsible for organising the valuer appointment and paying the fees. Check with our Homemade Homes by Accent team to find out more.

We will organise for a photographer to come to your home to take some shots to advertise the sale.

4. We’ll put your home on the market

We’ll put your home on the market, advertising it on housing websites like Share to Buy, Rightmove and our Homemade Home by Accent website.

5. Viewings commence

We’ll contact you to arrange viewings from interested buyers at times which suit you.

6. A sale is agreed

Congratulations - a sale has been agreed! Once this happens, you and your purchaser will speak to your solicitors.

7. Conveyancing begins

The sale triggers the conveyancing process, which covers all the legal steps to transfer property ownership from you to the buyer.
